The XII International Grain Trading Conference "Global Grain Outlook" was hosted in Azerbaijan, Baku, "Holiday Inn 4 *," October 4-7, 2022!
More than 120 representatives from 10 countries including Russia, Azerbaijan, Hungary, Egypt, France, Turkey, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Iran and Moldova took part in the event.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Azerbaijan:
Deputy Minister of Agriculture - Zeynalov Elchin Razim oglu;
Head of Department for Work with Farmers, Associations and Cooperatives of the Ministry of Agriculture - Fariz Aliyev;
Head of the sector of the Department of Organization and monitoring of crop production of the Ministry of Agriculture - Faik Bayramov.
Also the conference was attended by the representatives of the State Agency for Reserves of the Republic of Azerbaijan such as Orkhan Mustafayev - Head of the Procurement Department and Emil Hasan-zade, Head of the Department for the Storage of State Reserves.
The State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market of the Republic of Azerbaijan also participated in the conference.

The XII International Grain Trading Conference "Global Grain Outlook" was held in a hybrid format as some of the speakers were unable to attend the event in person.
Traditionally the conference began its work with a greeting of the President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky.

The opening ceremony of the occasion was attended by:
Elchin Zeynalov , Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Azerbaijan;
Ziad Samedzadeh, Deputy of the Milli Majlis;
Mammed Abbasbayli , State Service for Antimonopoly Control and Supervision of the Consumer Market of the Republic of Azerbaijan;
Sabuhi Sadigov, Azerbaijan State Reserve Agency;
Mikhail Bocharnikov , Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan;
Mousavi Seyyed Abbas, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Azerbaijan.



The program part began with a speech of the Vice-President of the Russian Grain Union – Alexander Korbut who announced the speakers of the first session "Agro-food and grain market: global trends, realities of the Caspian region and Azerbaijan".
The session which was held in the format of an open dialogue with an emphasis on the development of the trends and ideas in the current economic conditions, was attended by:
Petr Korotchenko, Deputy, Duma of the Stavropol Territory;
Mikhail Bocharnikov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to Azerbaijan;
Arkady Zlochevsky, President, Russian Grain Union.


The coffee break was followed by the second session “Grain and processed products market: long-term trends and opportunities for the Black Sea-Caspian sub-region” which was attended by Dmitry Rylko, General Director of the Institute for Agricultural Market Studies, Evgeniya Dudinova, Stock Crop Purchasing Director of the Agthia Group, Alexander Malov, the Head of the Trade Committee of the Grain Union of Kazakhstan, Kaveh Zargaran, the Chairman of the Iran Grain Union.
The session covered such topics as the global changes in the structure of production, distribution and consumption of grain, the impact of economic, weather, geopolitical factors on the development of the segment, medium and long-term forecasts and trends in the production and consumption of grain, oilseeds and their derivatives in the Caspian region, prospects for the 2022/23 season, harvest, export prospects and supply corridors.


The third session "Global and regional markets for oilseeds and their derivatives" was held with the participation of the following speakers:
Vladimir Petrichenko, General Director of the analytical agency “ProZerno”;
Viktor Aslanov, General Director of the information agency “Grain & Oilseeds”;
Naila Mehrabova , Strategy and Business Development Advisor to the Board, AzerSun, Azerbaijan.



The first day of the conference ended with business negotiations and prolific meetings.

The XII International Grain Trade Conference "Global Grain Outlook" continued with the session "Caspian sub-region - how to realize the sea of logistical opportunities".
The main topics of the discussion were logistics of grain trade, container and multimodal transportation via international routes, prospects of the trans-Caspian transport route for agricultural products, grain corridors and infrastructure for international grain trade, freight market for grain and oilseeds in the Caspian basin: drivers, trends, main risks.
The session was attended by:
Sanan Chobanov, Commercial Director, Astara Grain Terminal;
Adil Hasanov, Chairman of the Board, Baku Grain Terminal;
Evgeny Popov , Freight Broker, Nitro Shipping.


At the end of the event Arkady Zlochevsky, President of the Russian Grain Union, delivered a closing speech.

The working day was followed by the bilateral meetings and negotiations along with the preparations for the final Gala-part of the event.



The XII International Grain Trading Conference "Global Grain Outlook" ended with a resplendent Gala Dinner. Live music and talented performers kept the participants in a great mood all the evening.
