On October 22-25, 2019
under the auspices of:
the Azerbaijan Export & Investment Promotion Foundation Azpromo, the Russian Export Center (REC), the Iranian Federation of Food Associations and the Organization IranGrain took place the XI International Grain Trading Conference «Global Grain Outlook» in Baku, Azerbaijan.

During The International Grain Trading Conference Arkady Zlochevskiy, President of The Russian Grain Union, and Talekh Asabil ogly Gasymov, CEO of «Karat Holding» and also the Chairman of the Association of Grain Producers and Processors of the Republic of Azerbaijan, signed a Memorandum of mutual cooperation.

More than 230 representatives from 16 countries of the world took part in the event including Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Belarus, Switzerland, Iran, Denmark, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Singapore, UAE, Lithuania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries.

XI International Grain Trading Conference «Global Grain Outlook» began its work with a solemn greeting of the President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevskiy.

The conference was proceeded with the speech of Vice-President of the Russian Grain Union Alexander Korbut then floor was given to the Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Rufat Mamedov, who also greeted all participants of the conference and spoke about grain production in Azerbaijan.

Head of the technical aid and security of the Department for surveillance and scheduling organization Mahmudov Rafail, representing the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan, also expressed his opinion on this topic.

A bit later, the Chairman and CEO of the Turkish Grain Board (TMO), Ahmet Güldal, touched on the grain market of Turkey.

Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of agroeconomics of faculty of Economics of MSU Sergey Kiselevquite accurately clarified the situation regarding trade wars, also he outlined the challenges and risks of food security

Denis Kazannikov, Head of agricultural & industrial complex export support (Russian Export Centre), spoke in detail about the forecasts for exports in terms of value, as well as the scale of export support and much more, which undoubtedly interest representatives of agriculture.

The second session was dedicated to Global changes in the structure of grain production, allocation and consumption. Mid- and long-term forecasts and tendencies in the changing of grain production, consumption on subregional markets, its consequences for the world’s balance and grain market conjuncture. The dynamic growth of the market of pulses and a place of the Black Sea region in its saturation. Trans-Caspian corridor for Kazakhstan's agricultural market: current state and prospects.

This session was attended by the following speakers such as Thomas Houghton, Senior Editor at Census Commodity Data Ltd., Broker of Agropa Trading LP Denis Plenkin, General Director of IKAR Dmitry Rylkoand representatives from Kazakhstan and Ukraine: Viktor Aslanov- Director of the research office «Grain&Oilseeds» (Kazakhstan) and Andrey Druzyaka - Board Member of ZERNO UA.

At the end of the day there was the third session «Prospects of the grain trade development».

The speakers were Sharif Nezam-Mafi, President of IranGrain Organization and Chairman of the Board of Iran-Switzerland Chamber of Commerce, Kaveh Zargaran, Chairman of Agricultural Commission in Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Secretary General in Federation of Iranian Food Associations, Eugeniy Shimov, Agri Manager of Cotecna Inspection (Vostok), Jandos Esmagul, Business Development Manager of Agriculture, Food and Life Department, SGS Kazakhstan, Svetlana Bocharnikova, Head of the Department for Foreign Economic Activity of “Mercury” and Elchin Atababaev, Independent expert of the State agrarian production and processing association "AzerAgrar".

The next day of the XI International Grain Trading Conference began with the fourth session «Grain transport corridors «North-South». Azerbaijan - a door for the new markets», where were such important topics as: Development and potential of the infrastructural projects such as «Sea Silk Route of the XXI century and economical zone of the Silk Route», its possibilities for grain market and the formation of the new transport corridors. Logistics of grain trading, containers and multimodal transportation, international through-routes. Perspectives of the transcaspian transportation route for agri production and etc.

The speakers of the session were Igor Pavensky Director of Strategic Marketing Department in «Rusagrotrans», Denis Lunev – Deputy director of export and logistics, GeliOil, Igor Bubnov – Deputy director of UNI TANKER Group, Yerzhan Baymukhametov – Deputy Board Chairman of Grain Terminal of Baku and Operation manager Farid Hasanov, who represented Astara Grain Terminal.

Representatives of foreign countries took part in the fifth milling session. The meeting began with a speech by the moderator Vural Kural IAOM EURASIA, Turkey). Then the floor was given to Evgeny Gan – President of the Union of Grain Processors and Bakers of Kazakhstan, who spoke about the milling in Central Asia. Talekh Asabil ogly Gasymov, General Director of "Karat holding", touched on the peculiarities of the Azerbaijani grain market. This was followed by presentations by Serdar Gundogdu, Procurement and execution manager of the Turkish company Ulusoy UN, and Evgeniya Dudinova, Senior Procurement Manager – Grains/Commodities, Grand Mills PJSC (Agthia Group) (United Arab Emirates).

At the end of the business part of the conference there was a session dedicated to GAFTA contracts, the speaker of which was Ivan Kasynyuk – partner of AVELLUM. The session was traditionally held in an interactive format.

XI International Grain Trading Conference "Global Grain Outlook" ended with the gala-dinner with the traditional awarding of the Sponsors of the conference with diplomas of the Russian Grain Union. The festive program was held under the songs of the participant of the show "The Voice" Ilya Kireev.
