took place XIII International Grain Round «Grain market – yesterday, today, tomorrow» in Gelendzhik, Krasnodar Territory
The event was visited by 584 representatives from 19 countries including Russia, USA, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey, Egypt, UAE, Indonesia, Singapore, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and other countries.
The General Sponsor of the Round was KRASNODARZERNOPRODUKT, Official Marine Partner – Inflot. Sponsorship was provided by Schyolkovo Agrochim, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, AgroBazis, SKAT, BUHLER AG, Avgust Crop Protection, Severnaya Kazna Insurance Company, BI Granum, Merci Invest Group, National Mercantile Exchange, Soyuz Trading, Rossiya Insurance Company.
In the event’s frameworks problems of legislative provision, state regulation of the grain market, forecasts of production, price dynamics and grain market conditions were discussed as well as the use of new technologies of grain production, processing and storage, the development of transport and financial infrastructure. Particular attention was paid to the grain industry competitiveness in Russia’s membership in the WTO and the main directions of technological modernization, as well as the problems of credit, new instruments of financing and grain business insurance.

Session 1 “Agricultural policy: choosing the path of development – support of production yield or support of consumers” was opened by Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Ilya Shestakov with the message concerning peculiarities of the grain market state regulation, priorities and instruments of agricultural development state program and ways to support grain producers.
The first session was moderated by Managing Director, Chief Economist of Troika Dialog Evgeny Gavrilenkov.

Of particular interest among Conference participants was the report on the development of competition in the grain market after Head of Economy sectors Development Department of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Lyudmila Tyazhelnikova.
About what kind of government policy is needed by the agricultural sector told the president of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevskiy.

The work session was closed by the Vice-President of the Russian Grain Union Alexander Korbut by his presentation dedicated to Russian agrifood policy competitiveness.
Great interest among the participants led the second session dedicated to the results of the outgoing and the prospects of the new season. The problems of production, balance sheet and grain market situation were covered.
Continuing the glorious tradition, the session was moderated by the President ofthe Agro-industrial Union of Kuban, Chairman of Krasnodar regional branch of the All-Russian public organization “Russian Agrarian Movement” Evgeny Gromyko.
During the session, their forecasts, estimates and recommendations expressed Deputy Head of Agrifood Market Regulation and Infrastructure Development Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Artem Krestianinov, Deputy General Director of the United Grain Company Aram Gukasyan, General Director of Institute for Agricultural Market Studies Dmitry Rylko, General Director of ProZerno Vladimir Petrichenko, Head of Agriculture Production Department of Inspectorate R Vitaly Smirnov, Head of Strategic Marketing Department, of Rusagrotrans Alexey Fedotenkov and Head of Analytical Department of the Russian Grain Union Rudolf Bulavin.





On the results of the session the Panel discussion with the participation of all the speakers together with Deputy General Director of the International Grain Company Nikolay Demianov and General Director of KZP-Expo Alexey Sidyukov was held. The art of moderating was again demonstrated by the Vice-President of the Russian Grain Union Alexander Korbut.

Working session of the second day began with a panel discussion on the vital topic for grain producers that was “The WTO – Risks and Opportunities”. Their assessments of consequences of Russia’s affiliation to the WTO in the context of the competitiveness of domestic products in the short and long term prospect, proposals to ensure the effectiveness of agricultural business in the new conditions and governmental regulation and support measures were expressed by Deputy Head of Agrifood Market Regulation and Infrastructure Development Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Artem Krestianinov, General Director of Schyolkovo Agrokhim Salis Karakotov, President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevskiy and General Director of Ambika-AGRO Company Boris Rozenvald.

Session 3.1 “Technological modernization, biotechnologies, storage” was opened by General Director of Schyolkovo Agrokhim Salis Karakotov. The baton was picked up by Head of Corporate Development and Communication of KWS SAAT AG Dr. Henning Von der Ohe who in his presentation clearly demonstrated opportunities and risks from the use of biotechnologies in agricultural sector. The session was closed by Regional manager of Buhler AG, Switzerland Adrian Spahr with the report covering methods of grains and oilseeds storage.


The working session continued with the Panel discussion “Insurance – first experience from the use of the new law, “corrections” before the winter sowing” which by its severity recalled the infamous TV show! Among the participants there wereHead of Agrarian insurance management of “Ingosstrakh” Insurance Company Delyara Sangadzhieva, General Director of “Severnaya Kazna” Insurance Company Alexander Merenkov, General Director of “Rossiya” Insurance Company Yury Kolesnikov, Executive Director of the National Association of Agriculture Insurers Korney Bizhdov, General Director of SPH RUS Viktor Ponomarenko.

The final session of the International Grain Round covered mechanisms for exchange trading and was sponsored by the National Mercantile Exchange (NAMEX). Their reports presented Director of NAMEX Sergey Naumov and Deputy General Director of RTS-Tender Roman Lvov.

The XIII International Grain Round closed in the evening of June 08 with the gala dinner with the traditional awarding of the Conference sponsors the certificates of the Russian Grain Union!
