VI International Conference «Russian Grain»

VI International Conference «Russian Grain: Black Sea Vector» 

was held in Krasnodar, Russia 

 

The event was visited by more than 200 representatives from Egypt, UAE, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries.

In the Conference frameworks there was an active discussion of macroeconomic forecasts of the grain market, long-term prospects of the Russian grain at the Black Sea basin, issues of infrastructure and logistics development program, government support and regulation of agroindustrial sector, competitiveness of the grain industry and main directions of crediting.

Plenary Session of the International Conference «Russian Grain» and International Agrarian Congress «YUGAGRO» was opened by Deputy Governor of Krasnodar region, Minister of Agriculture and Processing Industry of Krasnodar region Sergey Garkusha. He told the participants that this year Kuban is rich in the good harvest proving that agribusiness can be efficient and profitable not only in a particular region, but also throughout the country. In the session frameworks the reports were presented by Deputy Chairman of Legislative Assembly of Krasnodar region, President of Agroindustrial Union of Kuban Evgeny Gromyko and Deputy Head of Science-technological Policy and Education Department of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation Pavel Burak, who highlighted in his speech the problems of state regulation of the grain industry, spoke on grain intervention and presented prospects for the Ministry of Agriculture for the season. The Plenary session was moderated by Editor-in-Chief of Media Group «Agro News» Igor Abakumov. The session was summed up by Vice President of the Russian Grain Union Alexander Korbut, who demonstrated in his report challenges and tasks set by the State Program for Agriculture Development 2013-2020. 

The second event’s session «Taxes, subsidies, investments, loans, insurance: dialogue between financiers and farmers» started with the report of PWC partner Vyacheslav Soloviev, who covered the international aspect of the grain market. About state support innovations and effective use of new technologies in his speech said General Director of Schyolkovo Agrochim Salis Karakotov. Session continued with lending secured by future harvest presented by Project Manager of Sberbank Vladimir Shatravin

The third session was dedicated to agricultural market situation in the second half of the season. Oil and fat industry prospects were covered by Executive Director of Oil and Fat Union of Russia Yury Morozov. The session continued with the sugar market outlook 2013/14 after Chairman of the Board of the Union of Sugar Producers of Russia Andrey Bodin. Senior Attache on Agricultural Affairs from the USA Embassy in Moscow Levin Flake told the conference participants about main trends at the world grain market.  The final report dedicated to the railway transportations of grain was made by Deputy Director of Strategic Marketing Department of Rusagrotrans Igor Pavensky

At the end of the business program there was the cocktail organized by the conference partners Kuban Vino and Shato Taman where splendid vines were presented. 

Participants of the VI International Conference «Russian Grain» had an opportunity not only to take part in the sessions, but also enjoy the largest Russian agroindustrial exhibition «YUGAGRO» where manufacturers of machinery and equipment for agriculture, processors and producers of grain, vegetables, meat and dairy products from Russia and Europe were presented! 

In the evening of November 26 the conference organizers Russian Grain Union and the company «KrasnodarEXPO» organized the gala dinner party in the luxurious reception hall of Krasnodar «Galich Hall», where participants were able not only to enjoy delicious dishes, but also take part in the entertainment program!
