IAOM-Eurasia published a report on the International Grain Trading Conference Global Grain Outlook that was held on 22-25 of October in Baku, Azerbaijan

In the framework of XI International Grain Trading Conference, organized by the Russian Grain Union, «Global Grain Outlook 2019» October 22-25 2019, Azerbaijan, Baku’, the International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) – Eurasia attended the “Milling Session”, which was moderated by Vural Kural, Executive Secretary and Treasurer of International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) - Eurasia.

XI International Grain Trading Conference Global Grain Outlook began its work with a solemn greeting of the President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevskiy. The conference was proceeded with the speech of Vice-President of the Russian Grain Union Alexander Korbut then floor was given to the Deputy Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Rufat Mamedov, who also greeted all participants of the conference and spoke about grain production in Azerbaijan. Also the second session was attended by General Director of IKAR Dmitry Rylko as a speaker. This session was dedicated to Global changes in the structure of grain production, allocation and consumption. Mid- and long-term forecasts and tendencies in the changing of grain production, consumption on subregional markets, its consequences for the worlds balance and grain market conjuncture. The dynamic growth of the market of pulses and a place of the Black Sea region in its saturation. Trans-Caspian corridor for Kazakhstans agricultural market: current state and prospects.

At the conference the Chairman and CEO of the Turkish Grain Board (TMO), Ahmet Guldal, touched on the grain market of Turkey. Guldal emphasized on the importance of grain trade between the countries of the region in his speech at the conference by explaining Turkeys role in the world grain trade. Guldal also noted that Turkey ranks first place in the production of flour and second place in the production of pasta.

More than 230 representatives from 16 countries of the world took part in the event including Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Belarus, Switzerland, Iran, Denmark, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, Singapore, UAE, Lithuania, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and other countries.

In the Milling Session, which was moderated by International Association of Operative Millers (IAOM) Eurasia, key discussion themes were The growth of the flour-milling capacities in the countries-exporters, acquisition, loss and new possibilities. Potential demand for wheat, flour and feed stuff production. Turkey the permanent leader of the worlds flour market?. The session began with a speech by the moderator Vural Kural IAOM Eurasia. During the session Evgeniya Dudinova (Senior Procurement Manager Grains/Commodities, Grand Mills, UAE), Serdar Gundogdu (Procurement and execution manager, Ulusoy UN, Turkey), Evgeny Gan (President, Union of Grain Processors and Bakers, Kazakhstan) and Talekh Gasymov (General Director, Karat Holding, Azerbaijan) made their presentations.

During the conference, IAOM-Eurasia stand attracted attention and the information and ideas were exchanged with the stands of other companies participating in the conference. During the meetings, we contact with the Russian Grain Union (RGU) which hosted the conference for the development of relations and cooperation. In this context, on the recommendation of the Russian Grain Union, Emil Topchiev was invited to the IOAM Eurasia Leadership Council as a Counsellor of Executive Committee that will represent the Russian Grain Union in our association. At the end of the conference, we thanked them with a small gift from Turkey. Russian Grain Union presented thanks for taking part in event as well as for the supporting the conference.
